Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission conducts direct recruitment for the post of Village Adminstrative Officer (VAO) in Tamilnadu Ministerial Service.

Job profile of Village Administrative Officer:
•Maintenance of village record pertaining to crop and harvest.
•Keeping right record of land
•Preparation of statistical returns and reports

Eligibility Criteria:

Age limit:
Candidates aged between 21 and 30 years of age are eligible to apply for TNPSC VAO Exam

Age relaxation:
40 years for SCs, SC (A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs and DWs of all castes.

Educational qualification:
SSLC (Matriculation-10 Class) Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies (or) to College Courses of studies

Examination Fee:
•Examination fee Rs.125/- (Examination Fee Rs.75/- + Cost of Application Rs.50/-)

•Candidates claiming exemption from examination fee should pay Rs.50/- towards Application Cost

General Tamil / General English (80 items)

Total (200 items)
Duration of Exam: 3 hours
Maximum Marks: 300

Minimum Qualifying Marks for selection: 90

In response to your question here I am providing you with all the necessary details which are as follow:

The details about age limit is as follow;


1.I would like to tell you that your age must be above 21 years and not above 40 years for SC/ST/MBC/BC.

2. For category which are not mentioned in above list age limit must be between 21 to 30 years

Here I am providing you with the various eligibility criteria:

1. You must have passed SSLC or equivalent education and TAMIL LANGUAGE.

2.Along with that you must have passed from Tamil medium or must have Tamil as one of the subject in SSLC.

Examination Syllabus

1.The questions consist of 200 items of which 100 are general knowledge questions and must be answered.

2.The remaining questions depend on either Tamil or English GK and it can be chosen by the you.

3.You will get your respective dates for attending the counseling based on your exam marks.
