Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission was on 1st October 1926 that the first Public Service Commission in India started functioning. However the commission failed to acquire the public interest and in that way failed to satisfy the aspirations of the public. So the freedom fighters of India decided to rise against the action of the commission and stressed the government to set up a Federal Public Service Commission. So under the Government of India Act, 1935 provincial level Public Service Commission came into being for the first time in the history of India. Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission having its head quarters in Allahabad came into existence on 1st April 1937 with a glorious past history of 75 years. The examination system of the Commission has nowadays become sophisticated and computerization in all levels can be seen. The examination center of the commission is in Allahabad and Lucknow. The working of the commission is also regulated by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Regulation, 1976. This commission has the authority to conduct Civil Service examination for entry level appointments in various Civil Services. Functions of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission 1) Recruitment of candidates based on Interview only Screening Test & Interview only Examination only Examination & Interview only Preliminary, main examination and Interview only 2) Promotions 3) Disciplinary Actions 4) Services Rules 5) Advice to the UP Government Members of UPPSC Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission having 8 members working under the control of Chairman was appointed by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh in accordance with the provision of Article 316 to 319 of the constitution of India. The present bench of the commission is as follows. Combined State/Upper Subordinate Preliminary Examination Combined State/Upper Subordinate Main Examination Combined State/Lower Subordinate Examination RO/ARO Preliminary Examination (Only for the Commission) RO/ARO Main Examination (Only for the Commission) APS Examination (Only for the Commission) Assistant Registrar Examination Combined state Engineering examination UP Nyayic Seva (Junior Division) Examination Assistant Prosecuting Officer Examination UPPSC Examination Eligibility: The applicant should be an Indian Citizen and for Indian Foreign Service and other services candidate should be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with an intension for permanent settling in India. Age Limit: The applicants age should be between 21 to 30 years (both ages inclusive) and based on the date mentioned under the UPSC Examination notification. Educational Qualification: The aspirant should be a graduate or should be appearing for the final year of Bachelor degree from a recognized University. Procedures for Application Submission Uttar Pradesh Public service Commission has an online portal for examination application submission. In the website you can find all the latest notifications, advertisements, registration process, application submission, application status, admit card download, list of applications with photo related objections, interview latter download, duplicate registration slip & application form, syllabus of current examination, including important alerts and notices. For doing online application submission candidates need to register first and the registration can be possible only when there is an examination. After completing the registration process you can submit your application by getting in to the submit application form icon. Before submitting the application form you need to deposit the examination fee in a bank and use the challan number for downloading the E challan from the official website of UPPSC. The fields that are provided in pink font need to be filled. Enter registration number, date of birth, bank name, verification code and click on the generate challan button. The challan can be downloaded only on working days and after 2 pm. Here is image of UPPSC Generate E-Challan In the online application form enter registration number, bank name, transaction Id, transaction date, date of birth, gender, your domicile, category, scanned photo and verification code and finally submit the application by pressing the submit button. Here is image of UPPSC registration number searching web page: Selection Process in Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission To get selected in the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission you need to have participated in 3 types of examination procedures. They are preliminary, main and interview. In the preliminary examination all questions are objective types and are based on general awareness and current affairs. In the main examination there are 8 papers, of this 4 are pre selected subjects followed by one essay, topics related with english, hindi and GK Personal Interview Here is Syllabus of Preliminary and Main Examination UPPSC Preliminary & Main exam Syllabus Question Paper Pattern of UPPSC Here you can have glance at the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission question paper pattern for your reference.
