Use of UGC NET

What is the use of University Grants Commission (UGC), National Eligibility Test (NET) exam, & also give here required eligibility criteria for UGC NET exam & important dates???

University Grants Commission (UGC), National Eligibility Test (NET) is the national level entrance examination for postgraduate candidates.
NET is conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship in various Indian universities and colleges.

Eligibility:
There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship eligibility.

The applicant should have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test.

Examination Fee:-

General - Rs.600/-
Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer), as per the Central list of OBC available on website: National Commission for Backward Classes - Rs.300/-
SC/ST/PwD - Rs.150/-

Important dates:
CBSE UGC NET June 2015 Application form will be available from:
16th April 2015
Last date to apply online and generation of filled bank challan
15th May 2015
Last date of submission fee through online generated challan 16th May 2015
Exam Date
28th June 2015 (Sunday)
