Re: UPSC dentists exams

As per me there is no separate exam conducted for dentist by UPSC but UPSC conducts Combined Medical Service Exam for candidates with an MBBS Degree.

Here I am giving detail of combined medical services Exam

Eligibility:

One must have passed the written and practical parts of final MBBS examination


Age limits:
Must not have attained the age of 32 years in exam year ;

Tentative Schedule

(i) Notification of Examination
August

(ii) Conduct of Examination
January

Services/posts recruitment to which is made through the Examination
i. Assistant Divisional Medical Officers in the Railways.
ii. Junior Scale Posts in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service.
iii. Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services.
iv. Medical Officers in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
v. General Duty Medical Officers in NDMC.

Scheme of Examination


Written Examination (2 papers of 200 marks each, both of objective type)
Weightage

Paper I (200 marks)
(i) General Medicine including Cardiology, Neurology, Dermatology and Psychiatry
60%
(ii) Surgery including ENT, Ophthalmology, Traumatology and Orthopaedics
40%

Paper II (200 Marks)
(i) Paediatrics
20%
(ii) Gynaecology and Obstetrics
40%
(iii) Preventive, Social and Community Medicine
40%
Total marks for written exam. 400
Personality Test 200 Marks
