Re: UPSC Dentist Exam

There is no special exam held for the Dentist by the Union Public Service Commission. CMS or Combined Medical Services are the only exam organized by the UPSC for the MBBS students in different streams. UPSC conducts the exam for the rank of medical officer in various Government Departments like Railways, Central Health Services, Municipal Corporation of Delhi etc.

So, being a dentist you can also give the CMS exam.

The basic eligibility criteria for the CMS exam are as below:

You must have completed your MBBS in both respects that is practical and theoretical.

Final year candidates can also apply for the exam.

Age Limitations:

Maximum age limit is 32 years.

Minimum age limit is 21 years.

The selection is through two stages:

Written Test: The written test is of 500 marks while personality test is of 100 marks.

Personality Test: Only the candidates who qualify the written test are called for personality test. The personality test is of 100 marks.

Details of Examination:

Written Test:
Paper 1 examination (2 hours):
General Ability: 30 Questions
General Medicine: 70 Questions
Paediatrics: 20 Questions

Paper 2 examination(2 hours):
Surgery: 40 Questions
Gynecology & Obstetrics: 40 questions
Preventive & Social Medicine: 40 questions
