Combined Medical Services (CMS) Exam is a computer based combined medical examination conducted by UPSC for recruitment to the services and posts of Assistant Medical Officer in railways, Indian Ordinance Factories Health Service, Junior scale posts in central health services, etc.

UPSC CMS Exam Eligibility Criteria

You should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. examination.

Age limit:

You must not have attained the age of 32 years

Age relaxation for reserved category is applicable as per the norms.

UPSC CMS Exam 2018 Important Dates

Notification Date: 11 April, 2018
Last Date to Apply: 7 May, 2018
Date of Exam: 22 July, 2018

UPSC CMS Exam Pattern

Part-I: Computer Based Examination

Part I is of 500 marks.

The exam for two objective papers is conducted as Computer based mode.

Each paper carries a maximum of 250 marks.

Each paper is of 2 hours duration.

There are four alternatives for the answers to every question.

For each question for which a wrong answer has been given, one third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question is deducted as penalty.

Part-II: Personality Test

Candidates who qualify in the Computer based examination are called for Interview or Personality Test. The Interview or Personality Test carries 100 marks.
