Re: Upfc nptel

Advanced Power Electronics (Web) course includes the advanced topics of power electronics such as some of the latest devices their control and applications.

This course will be covered in eight modules.

Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is in module V.

The first module consists of advanced solid state devices thermal design, protection, gating circuits, digital signal processors used in their control.

The second module consists of non-isolated and isolated dc-dc converters.

The third module consists of improved power quality ac-dc converters.

The fourth module consists of power quality mitigation devices.

The fifth module consists of FACTS.

The sixth module consists of conventional HVDC (High voltage direct current), VSC based flexible HVDC systems.

The seventh module consists of solid state controllers for motor drives.
