Is University of Petroleum and Energy Studies UPES approved by All India Council for Technical Education AICTE?

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies UPES is a statutory University legislated by the State Government of Uttaranchal.

UPES is approved by the University Grants Commission UGC under section 2(f) of the UGC Act.

Being a University and approved by the UGC, it is not mandatory for UPES to seek the approval of AICTE.

However, UPES follows all the norms with regards to Infrastructure, Faculty, Equipment, Admission Criteria, and Student Amenities as laid down for Technical Education as required.

UPES is accredited (B Grade) by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)

UPES is recognized as a "Research Institution" by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR)

UPES' Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) has obtained approval from the Distance Education Board for offering programmes through distance learning mode.

UPES Law Programs are accredited by the Bar Council of India.
