Here I am giving you information about important dates to apply for sub inspector examination Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, Lucknow

Important Dates :
UP Police SI Examination Date: 04-08-2014
UP Police SI Examination Admit Card opening Date: 24-07-2014.

Now dates for examination are over , next year exam notice will publish in July 2015
Preliminary Test:
It will be of 300 Marks consisting of objective type questions

The questions from following sections:
General Knowledge & Current Affairs 150
Reasoning Ability 75
Numerical Ability 75

Physical Efficiency Test:
The Candidates, on the basis of preliminary examination, called for this test.
PET will be of 100 marks.
It comprises 4.8 KM race in 30 minutes for Male candidates and 2.4 KM race in 18 Minutes for Female candidates.

Main Written Examination:
Only those candidates who successfully clear PT and PET will be called for Mains. It will be of 300 marks consisting of multiple choice questions.
Level of the questions in this test will be according to minimum qualification for the post.
Minimum qualifying marks in the test is 35%.
Those candidates who do not obtain upto 35% of total marks will be disqualified. See the following.

Exam Syllabus:-

General Awareness:- Questions will be asked from Indian polity, Indian Administration, Indian Independence Movement, Indian Constitution and Law, Current (National and International) Events, Right to Information, Indian Society , Gender Issues, Basics of Computer Skills and Awareness, Human Rights, Internal Security and Terrorism, Secularism, Environment, General Science, Relations between India and its Neighbouring Countries.

Mental Ability:- Questions will be from topics- Logical Diagrams, Symbol-Relationship Interpretation, Codification, Perception Test, Word formation Test, Letter and number series, Word and alphabet Analogy, Common Sense Test, Letter and number coding, Direction sense Test, Logical interpretation of data, Forcefulness of argument, Determining implied meanings.

Reasoning:- Questions will be from topics- Analogies, Similarities, Differences, Space visualization, Problem solving, Analysis and Judgment, Decision-making, Visual memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship, Concepts, Arithmetical reasoning, Verbal and figure classification, Arithmetical number series, Abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, Arithmetical computations and other analytical functions.

Comprehension:- This Part is to test the comprehension ability of the candidate. To Check the ability questions will be in form of passage & asked from Literature, Science, Art, Culture, Social Science, Philosophy, Ethics & Other Humanity Subjects. Questions form passage & Poetry of Hindi Language will be ask.
