NCERT conduct the National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class X. The purpose of the scheme is to identify talented students and nurture them

NTSE exam is a two-stage process comprising Stage I at State level and Stage II at National level. The Stage-I of the NTSE is mostly organized in the month of November each year, and Stage-II in May next year.

NTSE Eligibility-

All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage-I examination, conducted by the States/UTs.

NTSE Application tentative Dates-

Stage-I (State)-

Submission of application form
From Aug 1 to Aug 31, 2014

Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Nov 1, 2014

Examination in all other States/UT
Nov 2, 2014

Stage-II (National)

Examination in all States and UT
May 10, 2015 (Sunday)

Selection -

There will be two stage selection process for award of scholarship.
Stage- I, selection will be done by States/UTs through a written examination Students, who qualify Stage-I, will be eligible to appear for Stage-II examination, conducted by NCERT

NTSE Exam Pattern-

The exam will comprise of two parts-

Mental Ability Test (MAT) comprising 50 questions to be done in 45 minutes.

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) comprising Language Comprehensive Test (English Language) having 40 questions to be done 45 minutes and Aptitude Test covering 90 questions on Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, History, Geography, Political Science and Economics of classes IX and X level to be done 90 minutes Each question will be carry one mark.

National Talent Search Scheme is to identify talented students and nurture them. The exam is for students studying in Class X. It is conducted on National level .

Stage - I ( State )
Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands 1st November, 2014

Examination in All other States and Union Territories 2nd November, 2014

Stage - II ( National )
Examination in All States and
Union Territories 10th May, 2015 ( Sunday)

Exam Pattern:

Stage I examination at the State/UT level will comprise of two parts, namely

(b) Scholastic Aptitude Test ( SAT ), which also includes Language Comprehensive Test.

Stage II examination will be intimated in due course.
