The University of Nebraska at Omaha MBA program prepares students to contribute significantly to organizational productivity by providing learning experiences that emphasize the application of sound, innovative business techniques. MBA program The MBA program has AACSB accredited curriculum and high academic standards Students may choose from the concentration areas below: Collaboration Science (CCS) Electronic Business (CEB) Healthcare Management (HCM) Human Resource Management (HRM) International Business (CIB) Investment Science (CIS) Risk Management (CRM) Supply Chain Management (SCM) Sustainability (SUS) Program Structure Core Courses The core curriculum is designed to help students develop a strong foundation across various functions of business and to build their leadership, communication and analytical skills. For students with an undergraduate major or a graduate degree in accounting, economics, finance, management, management information systems, or marketing, the core course(s) corresponding to the student’s undergraduate major(s) or graduate degree(s) will be waived. The student who has a core course waiver will be required to take a directed elective in the waived field. Elective Courses The 9 hours of electives must be selected from the listing of approved MBA electives. The listing includes courses specifically designed for the MBA program, as well as courses from the following departments: Accounting, Economics, and Information Systems. MBA Leadership Seminar Series UNO MBA students have the opportunity to learn from and interact with the area’s top corporate executives through the MBA Leadership Seminar Series. Students are required to participate in at least two of these events (which are scheduled at convenient times throughout the semester) prior to graduation. Project-Focused Capstone Course Students will conduct an integrative applied project on one of the following topic areas: Arts and the Executive Case Research and Writing Corporate Strategy Executive Civic Leadership Sustainability for Business Managers The focus of each of these courses must be integrative and applied (real projects for real organizations). The projects may be conducted in small groups or individually, however, individual student contribution to the project outcome must be assessed.
