USAT, was established and licensed in September 2003 by the Government of Montserrat, a British Overseas Territory and became International Medical Education Directory (IMED) listed the same year. Courses offered: Specialty Programs NP to DNP AP to OMD/DOM PhD, Specialist in Medicine ScD, Specialist in Experimental Medicine PhD, Specialist in Experimental Medicine Course block: Basic Sciences, Block I: Three semesters, 48 weeks, 68 credits Block Ia: Integrated Modules in Gross Anatomy, Embryology, Medical Physics, Histology, Nutritional Sciences, and Medical Terminology, Total 23 credit hours. Block Ib: Integrated Modules in Medical Physiology I, Biochemistry & Physiologic Chemistry, Cell Biology, Medical Imaging, Neurosciences, and Biostatistics, Total 23 Credit Hours. Block Ic: Integrated Modules in Medical Physiology (II) & Pathophysiology, Microbiology (immunology & virology), Pharmacology I (topics in Pharmacodynamics, Pharmacokinetics), Psychology & Behavioral Sciences, Nutritional Biochemistry, and Molecular Genetics Total 23 credit hours. Note: Students may apply the credits earned in Blocks Ia-c toward award of the degree of Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 is required for award of a Bachelor's degree, and a minimum GPA of 2.75 is required for progression to Block II. Block II: 2 semesters, 44 credit hours Block IIa: Integrated Modules in Physical Diagnosis, Clinical Pathology, Advanced Pharmacology & Medical Toxicology, Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Disease, and Introduction to Medical Seminar, total 22 credits. Block IIb: Integrated Modules in Intro to Clinical Medicine, Clinical Pathology Epidemiology, Public Health, & Preventive Medicine, Pharmacology Complimentary, & Alternative Therapies, Introduction to Medical Grand Rounds, and Biological Basis of Clinical Medicine, total 22 credits.
