University of Mumbai offers admission to B.E/B.Tech and B.Arch programme. Admission to the courses will be based on the performance in Maharashtra Technical Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) and for B.Arch admission will be based on National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). Bachelor of Engineering The degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) will comprise the following branches :- i. Automobile Engineering ii. Bio-medical Engineering iii. Chemical Engineering iv. Civil Engineering v. Computer Engineering vi. Construction Engineering vii. Electrical Engineering viii. Electronics Engineering ix. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering x. Instrumentation Engineering xi. Mechanical Engineering xii. Production Engineering xiii. Information Technology xiv. Marine Engineering xv. Bio-Technology xvi. Bio-Informatics xvii. Printing & Packaging Technology Eligibility Criteria One must have passed Higher Secondary examination (12th) from any recognised board of education with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Minimum of 45 % marks (general category) and 40 % marks (OBC/SC/ST category) is mandatory. Entrance Exams The admission in the engineering courses are offered on the basis of national level (JEE Main) and state level (MH CET) entrance exams. Most of the colleges accept the scorecard of MH CET for offering admission in B.Tech course. Selection Process Selection to B.E/B. Tech will be based on MHT – CET Examination and an online counselling conducted by Mumbai University. MHT-CET The MHT-CET will consist of two question papers (Paper 1 and Paper 3) Each paper is MCQ based and of 100 marks Paper 1 consists of Physics and Chemistry with 50 questions each carrying one marks for every correct answer Paper 3 comprises of Mathematics with 50 questions with 2 marks for every correct answer There will be no negative marking for wrong answer JEE Main Exam mode Online (Computer based) Number of sections and subjects 3 (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) Duration of exam 3 hours (180 minutes) 60 minutes per section Number of questions 75 (20 + 5 questions per section) Objective Type - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) & questions for which answer is a numerical value, with equal weightage to Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry Type of questions MCQs; 4 options with only 1 correct option JEE Main Total Marks 300 marks Language of paper English, Hindi and Gujarati (Aspirant’s from Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli can opt for Gujarati as well) |
