The Kenan–Flagler Business School is the undergraduate and graduate business school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The school was established in 1919. Global Immersion Electives- Full Time MBA A Global Immersion Elective (GIE) is an opportunity to engage in a short-term exploration of a world economy for academic credit. GIEs highlight some of the most dynamic economies in the world. Each GIE combines timely business issues with discussions on how to do business abroad. UNC Kenan-Flagler faculty teach on-campus classes which culminate in an intensive immersion in the countries of focus. A GIE may place a secondary focus on a specific industry or functional area. MBA students receive three hours of elective credit for participation in a GIE. The 2016 GIEs will visit: India and Singapore Colombia, Peru, and Chile Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong The GIEs take students beyond general awareness of international business issues. GIEs offer on-site opportunities to observe what they have learned. Immersion electives cultivate these components of global competency: Empathy to understand issues from a different perspective Deeper knowledge of a region and its people Cross-cultural communication skills to work effectively in a different culture Contact address Kenan-Flagler Business School Business School 300 Kenan Dr, Chapel Hill, NC 27599, United States |
