Re: UK CET hadley mean

The estimated mean value of Temperature may not be equal to (max+min)/2 because there is always one more minimum value than maximum.

This discrepancy is exaggerated during the first part of the month and when the nights have suddenly become significantly colder or warmer.

Mean Central England Temperature, 2018

Month CET Anomaly notes
January 5.3 1.5
February 2.9 -0.8
March 4.9 -0.8
April 9.8 2.0
May 13.2 2.1
June 16.1 1.9
July 19.3 3.4 provisional, to the 19th

Averages so far this year 2018:-
Average CET to June: 8.72
Normal CET to June: 7.74

Provisional CET anomaly (up to 19th July): 1.22

The lowest annual mean CET ever recorded was 6.86, which is -2.65 lower than normal. To beat this record the anomaly must be lower than -7.35 for the remainder of this year
