UGC NET is taken by UGC twice in a year for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the:

Award of Junior Research Fellowships and/or
for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges.

Exam Pattern
Paper will consist of three papers.
All the three papers will comprises of only objective type questions
Session Paper Questions Mark Duration
First I 50 100 1-1/4 Hrs.
First II 50 100 1-1/4 Hrs.
Second III 75 150 2-1/2 Hrs.

There will be no negative marking.

The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below.
