Central Board of Secondary Education direct the National Eligibility Test (NET) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for eligibility as Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian universities and colleges. Important dates: National Eligibility Test (NET) 2014 on December 28, 2014 (Sunday) Online Form Submission - 15th October, 2014 to 15th November, 2014 Last date for Applying Online & generation of filled Bank Challan for Fee. - 15th November, 2014 Last date of submission of Fee through online generated Bank Challan, at any branch of (SYNDICATE/CANARA/ICICI BANK) - 18th November, 2014 Last date of taking printout of Application Form, Attendance Slip and Admit Card from website - 19th November, 2014 Educational Qualifications: (a) Applicants must have BS-4 years program/BE/BTech/BPharma/MBBS/Integrated BS-MS/MSc or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks for general and OBC (50% for SC/ST candidates, physically and Visually Handicapped Applicants). (b) Applicants having BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks for general and OBC Applicants; 50% marks for SC/ST Applicants, physically and visually handicapped candidates are also eligible to apply. Applicants with bachelor's degree, whether Science, engineering or any other discipline, will be eligible for fellowship only after getting registered/enrolled for PhD/Integrated PhD program within the validity period of two years. (c) Applicants enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the Result Awaited (RA) category on the condition that they complete the qualifying degree with requisite percentage of marks within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship from the effective date of award. (d) Applicants will have to submit the attestation format (Given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of the Department/Institute from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared. Scheme of Test: (a) The single paper MCQ based test (b) Subjects: (i) Life Sciences, (ii) Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, (iii) Mathematical Sciences, (iv) Chemical Sciences, (v) Physical Sciences, (vi) Engineering Sciences.
