NET stands for National Eligibility Test .It is conducted by UGC twice in a year.

Important dates
Last date for Applying Online and generation of filled Bank Challan for Fee: May 5, 2014
Last date of submission of Fee through online generated Bank Challan, at any branch of State Bank of India (SBI): May 7, 2014
Last date of taking printout of Application Form, Attendance Slip and Admit Card: May 10, 2014
Last date for receiving the printout of online Application Form: May 15, 2014
Date of Examination: June 29, 2014

Eligibility:
Applicants must be citizen of India.
Candidate must hold post graduation degree.
Aspirants must score 55% in PG course,50% for SC/ST.
No upper age limitation.

Exam pattern:
NET exam consists of 3 sections, 2 objective sections and 1 descriptive section.
Paper I is common for all subject candidates and will mainly consists of questions from
Teaching and Research Aptitude
Quantitative Reasoning
General Knowledge
Current Affairs
General Aptitude
Elementary basics of Computer Science
General Science
Paper II & III will be separate for each subject candidates and will comprise of questions from the respective subject areas.
