Can you tell me about the Degree Requirements for admission in Traditional MBA (Master in Business Administration) Program offered by Tennessee State University?

The Traditional MBA Program offered by Tennessee State University is designed for the working professional and non-traditional student. It consists of 12 courses for 36 hours of credit. All courses are offered in the evenings at the Avon Williams Campus.

The MBA Traditional option follows to the core values of the College and is designed to provide strategic, behavioural and technical competencies relevant to contemporary business practice.

The goals of the program provide direction for course design and development for the enhancement of student skills and to add value in both content and analytical/critical faculties.

The College of Business offers the Master of Business Administration Traditional Option in General Business or Specialized Concentration in:
Accounting
Management Information Systems
Finance
Supply Chain

Degree Requirements
One must satisfy all prerequisites, complete core requirements and other approved courses to satisfy the minimum number of semester hours required for a graduate degree, and accumulate a minimum GPA of B or 3.0 on a 4.0 system.
One must file application of Admission to Candidacy for the MBA degree after completing all required prerequisites and 9 semester hours of graduate course work taken in residence with a B average in all courses taken for graduate credit. The recommendation of the major advisor and approval of the Dean of the Graduate School are required.
One must file Application for Graduation at least one full semester prior to commencement, including clearance with the major advisor, the Dean of the Graduate School, the Business Office, the Placement Bureau, the Office of Admissions and Records, and the University Library.
One should attend commencement. The MBA degree may be awarded in absentia upon prior approval by the Dean of the Graduate School.
