Can you tell me how many total Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are there in India? Also list me the names and contact details of all the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in India?

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in India are among the top engineering institutions in the world.

The IITs in India were formed with the objective of creating a talented pool of trained scientists and engineers who could contribute towards the economic and social development of the country.

Each of the IIITs has been proposed to be set up as a fully autonomous institution, through the PPP model.

The partners setting up IIITs will be the ministry of human resource development, the governments of respective states where each IIIT will be established and industry members.

The report suggests that private organisations should play an equal or slightly greater role in bringing investment for the new IIITs.
