The common application form of TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) seeks admission to the University Departments and the Constituent Colleges of Anna University, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges and for the seats surrendered by Self–Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu under Unified Single Window Admission System for Indian Nationals. TNEA Centre One could collect the Application/ Admission Form 2016 in person from any of the 60 centers of TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission). If one wants to apply for the postal mode, the Form will be available only from the Centre for Entrance Examinations & Admissions, Anna University, Chennai – 25 TNEA Eligibility Criteria One who has cleared the 12th grades in the institutes of Tamil Nadu need not submit any nativity certificates. However, those who have cleared their 12th grades from outside this state need to attach a Nativity Certificate only in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate. One must have passed the 10+2 Exam; however, the minimum required percentages are different. Those applying against the General Quota must have secured 50%. Those applying against the Backward Class Quota must have secured 45%. Those applying against the MBC, DNC, SC/SCA/ST Quotas must have secured 40%. If one has failed to satisfy the conditions, should have passed in Related Subjects, Vocational Theory and Practical put together. For B.E./B. Tech applicants, the vocational subjects are General Machinist, Electrical Machines and Appliances, Electronic Equipment, Draughtsman Civil, Auto Mechanic and Textile Technology. Rounding of marks and normalized marks is not considered for eligibility. TNEA Selection Process After normalising marks scored by one (across all boards), the final merit list followed by TNEA rank list is prepared on the following factors: • Percentage of marks in Mathematics • Percentage of marks in Physics • Percentage of marks in Chemistry • Percentage of marks in the 4th optional subject • Date of Birth (elder candidates are give preference) TNEA rank list is published depending on the overall rank, community-wise and region-wise. |
