TNAU Entrance Exam for PG

Can you tell me about the eligibility required for sitting for the PG Entrance Exam of TNAU or Tamil Nadu Agricultural University? Tamil Nadu Agricultural University conducts Post Graduation PG Entrance Exam for admission to following Post Graduate courses and PhD programs.

Masters Program in 33 disciplines
Regular Ph.D. Program in 27 disciplines
Integrated Ph.D. in 4 disciplines
External Ph.D. by research in 28 disciplines

TNAU PG Eligibility

Masters Program :

Graduates who have completed four years degree program in any one of the State Agricultural Universities / Colleges affiliated to State Agricultural Universities alone are eligible to apply for masters.

Regular Doctoral Programs :

Candidates who have studied four years degree program and two years masters program in any one of the State Agricultural Universities / Colleges affiliated to State Agricultural Universities alone are eligible to apply for doctoral programs.

Integrated Doctoral Programs :

Candidates with four year Undergraduate degree program in any one of the State Agricultural Universities /Colleges affiliated to State Agricultural Universities/ Institutes with ICAR Accreditations with a minimum OGPA of 7.0 / 10.0 scale or its equivalent score alone are eligible to apply for the Integrated Doctoral programs.

Part Time Doctoral Programs :

Candidates with four year degree program and two year masters program by regular stream in any one of the State Agricultural Universities / Colleges affiliated to State Agricultural Universities/ Institutes with ICAR accreditations are eligible to apply and they should have professional experience not less than two year in a Government or Private organization / Institution, where R&D facilities recognized by TNAU are available to conduct field and laboratory experiments leading to the award of Ph.D degree by TNAU.

Minimum OGPA / Aggregate requirement :

Masters / Doctoral Programs : A candidate who has undergone course credit system with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10.00 or 70% aggregate alone is eligible to apply for various Masters and Doctoral programs.

However, for SC / ST candidates a pass in the qualifying degree is sufficient for all programs.

TNAU PG Exam Pattern

Written test with objective type questions from the respective subjects will be for one hour fifteen minutes duration.

Candidates applied for two subjects should write the examination for both the subjects continuously for two and half hours.

Eligible candidates will write the entrance test for 100 marks in three compartments

Compartment 1 General Agriculture for 15 marks
Compartment 2 Aptitude for 10 marks
Compartment 3 Specific subject for 75 marks
