Re: TIFR Life
Biological physics is an emerging field and it is fast becoming a discipline in itself. TIFR has a strong tradition of such research activities, which are pursued through informal agreements between individual research groups. These are now formalized into an Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Program (ILSP) at TIFR. Current Research Activity Intracellular Trafficking and Cytoskeletal Dynamics (Krishanu Ray) Multiphoton imaging of neurotransmitter dynamics; Single molecule spectroscopy of protein aggregation related to neurodegeneration. (S. Maiti) Optical trap based in vitro and in vivo studies of Molecular Motors and their intracellular regulation (Roop Mallik) Relating structure to function: AFM Imaging of DNA repair complexes (B.J.Rao & D. Mathur) Computing flagellar forces in single live cells (D. Mathur & B.J.Rao) High resolution analyses of dynamics in DNA strands in recombination Complexes (B. J. Rao & G.Krishnamoorthy) Understanding the molecular, cellular and physical bases of cell adhesion and epithelial plasticity: M Narasimha (More details soon) |
