Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore was established in 2002 under the Thiruvalluvar University Act, 2002 (Government of Tamilnadu Act 32/2002)

As you want here I am telling National Service Scheme of the Thiruvalluvar University started its functioning under the Chairmanship of then Vice - Chancellor of the University from 15.04.2005, it was separated from the NSS Cell of the University of Madras with allotment of 100 units having 10,000 NSS volunteers for the Thiruvalluvar University.
