Thiruvallauvar University is a public university which was established by the government of Tamil Nadu in 2002. Governor of Tamil Nadu Dr.K.Rosaiah is the chancellor of Thiruvallauvar University.

There is non-semester/semester exams for UG/PG degree students of the university departments and affiliated colleges are conducted.
