Re: TGT Mains Art exam Criteria, Pattern and syllabus

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is an autonomous organization which is running under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

TGT stands for Trained Graduate Teacher.

Exam Pattern

This is a Descriptive Type Paper of 120 marks for duration of 3 hours.

The Mains exam consists of long, medium and short answer questions. The questions may be remembering type questions to test the conceptual understanding of the topics. A few questions will be based on drawing interpretations from given raw data and some situational questions may also be asked to test the analytical ability and intelligence.

TGT Exam Syllabus (Trained Graduate Teacher)
Part -1


1) General Awareness
2) Current Affairs
3) General Science & Indian Constitution
4) Reasoning
5) Quantitative Aptitude
6) Teaching Aptitude etc
7) questions and the medium of the question paper will be both English and Hindi.
Part-2

English -20 questions
Hindi -20 questions

The candidate will be expected to obtain 05 marks in English and Hindi separately as well as minimum 13 marks in this paper as a whole in order to qualify the test.

Main test-120 marks, 3 hours (medium-English & Hindi)

Part-3- Question will comes from subjects

Age Relaxation

Relaxation in upper age limit will be as under:

(a). No age bar in the case of employees of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

(b).Up-to a maximum of 5 years in the case of SC/ STcandidates.

(c). maximum of 3 years in the case of OBC candidates.

(d). 5 years for persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during 01.01.80 to 31.12.89.

(e). maximum of 5 years for Government Servants.

(f). Ex-Servicemen who has put in not less than 06 months continuous service in the Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) shall be allowed

(g). Maximum of 10 years in the case of SC/ST and 08 years in the case of OBC candidates

(h) Maximum of 10 years in the case of Physically Challenged candidates.

(i) Maximum of 10 years for women candidates.
