Usually work of a Tax Assistant is purely clerical. His work mainly includes dispatch and prepare some reports.

Mostly he works under Superintendent or Appraiser, But at some places he also works under Examiner, PO and Excise Inspector.

Tax Assistant salary-

The salary breakdown of a Tax Assistant working in Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) is as follows.

Pay Scale: Rs. 5,200 – 20,200/-
Grade Pay: Rs. 2,400/-
