Re: T.Y.B.Com Paper pattern

The paper pattern for T.Y. B.Com examination of Mumbai University as my sister wants to apply for it is as follows:

Existing Pattern
7 Subjects of 100 Marks each.
2 Compulsory Subjects‐ 200 Marks
Commerce Paper III and Bus. Economics Paper III
3 Special Subjects‐ 300 Marks
Financial Accounting & Auditing/ Bus. Management/ Banking & Finance/ Commerce
2 Subjects under Applied Component Group: 200 Marks
DIT, Export Marketing, Purchase & Store Keeping, Labour Welfare, Marketing Research,
Mgt of Small Scale Industries, Travel & Tourism, Computer System & Applications,
International Marketing etc
Present Passing Standards
Compulsory Subjects: 35% Marks each
Special Subjects: Minimum 20% Marks in each Paper and Minimum 35 % Marks in all the
Three Papers together.
Applied Component Group: 35% Marks, separately for 80 Marks Theory and 20 Marks
Practical/ Project Work

Proposed Pattern
60 Marks Theory Examination in all the subjects be conducted by the University and 40
Marks Internal Assessment be conducted by the respective colleges.
University Examination pattern
4 Compulsory Questions (with internal options) of 15 Marks each (Covering the whole
syllabus) as follows:
1. One Question for long answer carrying 15 Marks
2. Two Questions for short answer carrying 15 Marks each (divided in to A, B and C)
3. One Question for objective type answers carrying 15 Marks.
Internal Assessment (Conducted periodically in the whole year)
Test Paper Best Two out of 3 Test Papers of 10 Marks each 20
Assignment Best One out of 2 Assignments of 10 Marks 10
AttTheoryance and Class participation 5 Marks each 10
Passing Standards
35% separately in Theory Examination (ie 21 out of 60 Marks) and Internal Assessment
(i.e. 14 out of 40 Marks)
