Here is the Railway Recruitment Board Assistant Loco Pilot syllabus exam pattern & syllabus;

Only a single paper of 1:30 hours duration and consists of objective type questions.

There will be a total no of 100-120 objective type questions with multiple answers.

The question paper will be in English, Hindi, Urdu and local languages.

There will be negative marking and marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer 1/3 of the marks allotted for each question.

Questions from following topics:

General Awareness
Arithmetic
General Intelligence and reasoning
General Science and Relevant Technical ability


Exam syllabus for RRB ALP and Technician Exam 2014
It is an objective style exam of 90 minutes duration. The total weightage of the exam is 120 marks, and there is negative marking of 1/3 for every wrong answer. The paper is divided into the following sections:
• General Knowledge
• General Intelligence
• Mathematics
• Current Affairs
• General English/Hindi
• Arithmetic and Analytical Skills

Detailed syllabus for RRB ALP and Technician Exam 2014
The following is the general syllabus for the exam.
• Mechanical- Thermo Dynamics, Energy Conservation, Automation Engineering, Heat Engine, Metal Handling, Transformation of Heat etc.
• Automobile- Thermo dynamics, system theory, IC Engines, Materials Applying Motion etc.

• Electrical- Three Phase Motor System, Light, Magnetism, Motors, An Alternative System Singe Phase Motor, Cables etc.
• Electronics and Communication- Digital Electronics, Electronic Tube, Semiconductor Physics, Transistor, Computer and Microprocessor etc.
English- Voice, Tenses, synonyms and antonyms, basic grammar, articles, prepositions etc.

Reasoning- Verbal and non-verbal reasoning, arrangements, blood ties problems, analogy, encoding-decoding etc.
Arithmetic- Principal and rate of interest, Ratios, Averages, Time-Distance Problems, Pictograph problems etc.
General Knowledge- A knowledge of current affairs
General Science- Some questions based on science that you have read till your 10th standard.

RRB ALP and Technician Exam Pattern 2014
While the syllabus listed for the exam might scare you, it isn’t really that daunting. If you see previous years’ papers, the difficulty level is average. You would do well to focus on basic concepts of the topics mentioned above. A majority of questions are based on general intelligence and reasoning. Revise the concepts that you studied till your 10th standard.
If you prepare the basic concepts well, you should be able to ace the exam with ease.
