VETERINARY ANATOMY Classification, physical properties and structures of bones of animals with their topography, contour, landmarks and functional anatomy from clinical and production point of view. Classification, structure and biomechanics of joints with reference to quadruped locomotion. Structural and functional classification of muscles from clinical and production point of view in animals. Gross morphological, histological and topographical study of various organs and tissues in different species of animals and poultry. 2. VETERINARY PHYSIOLOGY & BIOCHEMISTRY Hematology in animals. Cardiac cycle, regulation of cardiac output and significance of ECG in veterinary practice. Hemodynamics of circulation. Functional morphology of nephron, glomerular titration rate and reabsorption mechanisms. Electrolyte, water and acid base balance. Physiology of nervous system and muscles. Physiology of special senses. Morphological and functional characteristic of mono gastric and poly gastric digestive and respiratory systems. Hormone cell interaction, sub-cellular mechanisms-metabolism of hormones-methods of study of endocrine system. Follicular development dynamics, endocrine and receptor profiles, sexual receptivity, ovarian cycle, post partum ovarian activity, ovum transport, capacitation, fertilization, reproductive cycles in farm animals.
