Pattern
The paper will be divided into five units. Unit I will be compulsory and the remaining four units will consist of essay type questions. In setting questions, the following unit-wise division will be observed.

Unit II – Tennyson, Browning, Unit III – Arnold, Hardy, Hopkins, Unit IV- Yeats, Eliot, Auden
Unit V – Jussawalla, Das, Daruwalla

Unit I will consist of sex passages from the poets prescribed and candidates will be asked to
explain with reference to the context any three. Candidates will be required to answer one
question each from Units II, III, IV, and V. Unit I will carry 18 marks and Units II, III, IV and V will carry 8 marks each.
