Salem Steel Plant, an exceptional steels unit of Steel Authority of India Ltd, spearheaded the supply of more extensive width stainless steel sheets/curls in India. The plant can create austenitic, ferritic, martensitic and low-nickel stainless steel as curls and sheets with an introduced limit of 70,000 tons/year in Cold Rolling Mill and 3,64,000 tons/year in Hot Rolling Mill. Its steel dissolving shop can create 1,80,000 tons of pieces for each annum.In expansion, the plant has nation's first untouchable stainless steel blanking office with a limit of 3,600 tons/year of coin spaces and utility spaces/circles.
