Amity University, Noida is a private non-profit research university established in 2005 by an Act of State Legislature of Uttar Pradesh. The university is a part of Amity education group which has educational institutions.

It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956 and accredited by the NAAC with grade 'A'. It is also a member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities.
