National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (NIT Kurukshetra) is a public engineering institute established in 1963. In December 2008, it was accredited with the status of Institute of National Importance (INI).

It is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology established and administered by Government of India. Its vision is to be a role-model in technical education and research, responsive to global challenges.

Ranking
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra 43 in the engineering ranking in 2018.
