SSC Entrance Exam for CID Officer

Can you tell me in detail about the SSC Entrance Exam to become a CID officer as my friend wants to join CID?

The Criminal Investigation Department or CID is a crime detection agency under the Government of India. It was established in 1906. Those officers who work in this elite agency are known as Detectives or as CID officers. One has to appear in the Indian Civil Service Examination that is held by the Union Public Service Commission.

Educational Qualification:-

Bachelor Degree holder from any recognized University can apply for the post.

Age limit:-21-30 yrs.

Age relaxation is there for SC/OBC/ST.

Candidate should be Indian National.

Physical requirement:--

Height:-for Men:-163 yrs and for Women:-152 yrs

Selection Process:--Written Test -Interview -Physical and Medical Fitness Test


Exam Pattern and syllabus
The exam is conducted in two phase: - Preliminary and Mains.
Preliminary exam include 4 sections of 100 marks and its durations is 2 hours.
Mains exam include 2 papers each of 200 marks and each is of 21 hours.
