Staff Selection Commission will hold the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2019 for filling up Group “B” and Group “C” posts in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam conducted annually by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) consists of four phases, where each phase needs to be cleared depending upon the requirement of different posts.


SSC CGL 2019 Important Dates

SSC CGL Notification Date: 22nd of October 2019
Online Form submission Start: 22nd of October 2019
Last Date to submit Application: 22nd of November 2019 (extended to 25th November 2019)
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Dates: 02nd to 11th March 2020
SSC CGL Tier-1 Answer Key Date: To be notified later
SSC CGL Tier 1 Result Date: To be notified later
SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Dates: 22nd to 25th June 2020
SSC CGL Tier 2 Answer Key Date: To be notified later
SSC CGL Tier 2 Result Date: To be notified later
SSC CGL Tier 3 Exam Date: 22nd to 25th June 2020
SSC CGL Tier 3 Result Date: To be notified later
SSC CGL Tier 4 Exam Dates: To be notified later

SSC CGL Selection Procedure

Tier-I: SSC CGL tier-I is a computer-based exam that contains objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 200 marks. One clearing the tier-I paper is called to appear for tier-II exam.

Tier-II: SSC CGL tier-II is again a computer-based exam that is divided into four papers. Each paper contains 100 MCQs of 200 marks. One clearing the tier-II exam is called to appear for tier-III paper.

Tier-III: SSC CGL tier-III is a pen-and-paper based exam that is descriptive in nature. One clearing the tier-III exam needs to appear for the next stage – tier-IV.

Tier-IV: In tier-IV, either computer proficiency test, skill test or document verification is conducted as per the post applied by the candidate. One clearing it is finally allotted Group-B and C posts in various ministries/ departments/ organisations of the Government of India.


SSC CGL Exam Pattern
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) every year in four levels for various posts. Exam Pattern - The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

Tier – I Objective Multiple Choice Computer Based (online)
Tier – II Objective Multiple Choice Computer Based (online)
Tier – III Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi Pen and Paper mode
Tier – IV Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test Wherever Applicable
