SSC CGL Typing Speed
Is the CPT (Computer Proficiency Test) & Skill Test for Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) basically tests the typing speed only? Can you tell me about the typing speed required for Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) exam?

Re: SSC CGL Typing Speed
There are two tests in SSC CGL 2016 Tier IV Exam, One is CPT and other one is DEST. Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) DEST is meant to check both your speed and accuracy in typing on computer. DEST comprises only typing test in which students have to make 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes. It is the speed test which can be cleared easily by practice. In the allocated time of 15 minutes, you need to accomplish the task of 2000 key depressions on your computer. What this basically means is that you need to type passage/text which requires pressing 2000 keys on the computer keyboard in 15 minutes. Space, comma, alphabets, numeric characters everything gets counted in the 2000 keys. Of course, you also need to be accurate. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): CPT includes three modules Word Processing, Spread Sheet, and Generation of slides. Word Processing: You will be given an English passage 2000 key depressions has to be made in 15 minutes. This is not a very challenging task if you practice typing daily. Spread Sheet: In this module, Students will be given to perform basic Mathematical Operations like Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division on Microsoft Excel sheet. Students should know basics of Microsoft Excel. Generation of slides: In this module students will be asked to make slides on Microsoft PowerPoint. Students must have knowledge of Header, Footer, Inserting Date & Time and basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Point. |
