Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam Tier 1 and Tier 2.

Important Dates for SSC CGL 2016 Tier- I (Tentative)
Starting Date of registration procedure May 2016
Last Date of registration procedure June 2016
Examination Date (SSC CGL 2016 Tier-I) August 2016

Important Dates for SSC CGL 2016 Tier-2 (Tentative)
Starting Date of registration procedure January 2017
Last Date of registration procedure February 2017
Examination Date (SSC CGL 2016 Tier-II) April 2017

Educational Qualification
Candidate must have graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university.

Age Limit:
Candidate’s age should be between 18 to 27 years old
Age relaxation will be applicable as per government rule.

Application Fee:
General and OBC candidates have to pay 100/- as registration fee. SC, ST, PWD and women do not need to pay any fee.

SSC CGL consist three components:
Combined Graduate Level (Preliminary) Examination
Combined Graduate Level (Main) Examination
Personality Test/Interview

SSC CGL Tier 1 Syllabus:
Part A – General Intelligence and Awareness,
Part B – Arithmetic.

General Intelligence and Awareness:
-verbal questions. There will be questions from various subjects including Analogies, Similarities and Differences, Spatial Visualization, Spatial Orientation, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetic Reasoning, Verbal and Figure Classification, Arithmetical Number Series, Non-Verbal Series, Coding and Decoding, Statement Conclusion, Syllogistic Reasoning etc.

General Awareness:
This part is to check your knowledge regarding current events. So, there will be questions from recent happenings around the world. Some of famous events, incidents, calamities, summits, scandals would be in this part. Also it also includes questions from various fields including Politics, History, Geography, Economic, Scientific Research, Industries, and Developments etc. Most of all, latest trends and happenings are covered through this part.
Arithmetic:
This part mainly includes mathematic and related questions. Various types of calculations and numbering are there. There will be questions from topics like Number System, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, Relationships between Numbers, Percentage, Ration, Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and loss, Graphs, Measurements, Time, Distance and many more.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern:
Paper A: General Intelligence and Awareness
Total 100 Question and 100 marks
Time: 2 Hours
Paper B: Arithmetic
Total 100 Question and 100 Marks
Time: 2 Hours.
Total Marks: 200.
