SRM established a Medical college known as Chennai Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (CMCH&RC) on the outskirts of Trichy in 2008.
The Hospital is equipped with 750 beds.
It is in Irungalaur, Manachanallur Taluk on the Trichy-Chennai highway 28 km from Tiruchirappalli. Anna University affiliated T. R. P Engineering College is in the same campus started in 2010.
