Sri Venkateswara University is a state university in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 1954. the University is approved by UGC.

Department of Botany

The Department of Botany was established in the year 1959 at Sri Venkateswara University

The Department has made indelible mark of excellence in research in the area of Plant Physiology.

The Department was recognized as one of the international centres of photosynthesis research under UNEP programme.

This Department along with publishing 30 books and 650 research paper has completed fifty research projects and twenty conferences/seminars/workshops.
