Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning is an Indian university which is founded by Sri Sathya Sai Baba, under the Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act of 1956.

Timeline of this university is:

• 22 July 1968 - Inauguration of Anantapur Campus
• 9 June 1969 - Inauguration of Sri Sathya Sai Arts and Science College for men at Brindavan
• 28 November 1978 - Sathya Sai Baba laid the foundation-stone of the College of Arts, Science and Commerce at Prasanthi Nilayam
• 22 November 1981 - Inauguration of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning as Deemed University
• 20 November 2000 - Inauguration of Sri Sathya Sai Mirpuri College of Music[11]
• 26 August 2006 - Inauguration of Multimedia Learning Center and Humanities Building
• 2 February 2007 - Institute name changed to Sri Sathya Sai University[12]
• 14 February 2009 - Foundation ceremony of MuddenahalliCampus[13]
• 1 June 2012 - Classes commence at the fourth campus of SSSIHL at Muddenahalli
