Re: Sri Aurobindo Ashram

The Sri Aurobindo Ashram is an otherworldly group (ashram) situated in Pondicherry, in the Indian domain of Puducherry. The ashram became out of a little group of pupils who had assembled around Sri Aurobindo after he resigned from legislative issues and settled in Pondicherry in 1910.

Sri Aurobindo Ashram has stand out area. It doesn't have any branches. (Sri Aurobindo Ashram – Delhi Branch is a different association, with its own organization.) Many different associations in Pondicherry and somewhere else incorporate "Sri Aurobindo" in their name, yet they are not a portion of Sri Aurobindo Ashram. The most imperative association additionally enlivened by the vision of Sri Aurobindo is Auroville, a universal township established by the Mother and devoted to human solidarity.

Points and goals

The Ashram, as per Sri Aurobindo, "has been made with another item than that customarily regular to such foundations, not for the renunciation of the world but rather as an inside and a field of practice for the advancement of another kind and type of life which would in the last end be moved by a higher profound awareness and epitomize a more noteworthy existence of the soul."

Gathered Works

The Complete Works of Sri Aurobindo are being issued in 37 volumes, of which 34 have been distributed. The Collected Works of the Mother have been issued in 17 volumes.

Periodicals

The Ashram distributes various diaries identifying with the logic and yoga of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. These are right now printed at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram Press, however a few were prior acquired out different urban communities.

• Bulletin of Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education (English-French, formerly Bulletin of Physical Education), quarterly, Pondicherry, since 1949
• Mother India (English), monthly, Pondicherry (originally a Bombay fortnightly), since 1949
The Ashram press also prints several journals published by other organizations. These include:
• All India Magazine (English and other languages), monthly, Pondicherry
• Bartika (Bengali), quarterly, Calcutta, since 1942
