ISO – OSI Model, Transmission media- Coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, Modems, RS232 interfacing sequences. 2: Data Link Layer: (7 ) Framing, Error detection and correction, parity, LRC, CRC, Hamming code, stop and wait, go back N, selective repeat, ARQ, sliding window, HDLC, Medium access control. 3: Network Layer (6 ) Internetworks – packet switching and datagram approach, IP addressing methods, subnetting, routing – distance vector routing, link state routing, shortest path routing, flow based. 4: Transport Layer (5 ) TCP/IP, Datagram, Fragmentation, IP protocol, UDP, TCP.
