Globalization has naturally forced business schools across the panel to internationalize their purview. Developments have also intended that the range of professions to which MBA study is pertinent is no longer by any means limited to financial services and management/strategy consulting.

Alongside these developments, the perceptive of what management skills are have changed, with soft skills becoming more and more valued in MBA jobs over the past 50 years.

The key soft skills for MBA Graduates are:
Interpersonal Skills: The # 1 Attribute of New MBA Hires
Networking Builds Relationships That Lead to Jobs

) Get specific feedback from colleagues and peers as well as clients if one can on the qualities that are important for the role – consider ways of capitalising on your strengths as well as focusing on areas that need development

2) Identify somebody who you think is mainly successful at demonstrating the skills one want to develop & talk to them/sit in meeting with them and gain an insight into their approach

3) Think back to a recent time when one weren’t as successful at influencing or convincing an individual. Ask the individual on how one came across and what one might have done differently to be more successful.

4) Develop the habit of critically reviewing the impact one have had after any meeting. Consider the ways to increase your impact and put this into practice.

5) Take opportunities to regularly network within the organisation and externally & don’t just approach people when you need their help.

6) Spend more time with people who you find complicated to deal with. Don’t just think about the feelings about them but think about how they might even view you. Try out different approaches with them to see if one can develop a more effective relationship with them.
