The Duke-NUS Medical School - formerly known as "Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School" - is a collaboration between Duke University, in Durham, North Carolina, United States, and the National University of Singapore, in Singapore.

Duke-NUS’ Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program is a four-year program that follows the Duke University School of Medicine curriculum.

Student Composition

This Medical School accepts about 60 to 70 students in each cohort. 1/3 of the students are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents of Singapore.

The rest of the students come from over 20 countries, such as Malaysia, South Korea and Canada. The average age of incoming medical student is 24 years old.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) results
• 3 – 5 recommendation letters, typically from professors, mentors and/or employers.
• Research experience is looked upon favourably.


English Language Proficiency
Results of TOEFL or IELTS are required only if English was not the language of instruction during undergraduate studies.
The following are the minimum scores that should be achieved:
• 600 on the TOEFL paper-based test; OR
• 85 on the TOEFL internet-based test; OR
• an overall band score of 7 on the IELTS


Curriculum
The Duke-NUS curriculum has the same structure as Duke School of Medicine:
-1st year – Pre-clerkship
-2nd year - Clerkship
-3rd year – Research year
-4th year – Advanced Clinical Rotations
