As you want I am here telling you about Shutter Speed term used at Digital Photography School.
Shutter Speed: shutter speed is the amount of time that the shutter taken to open.

In film photography it was the length of time that the film was taken to the scene. Similarly in digital photography shutter speed is the length of time that image sensor sees or take the scene in attempting to capture.

About Shutter speed:
Shutter speed is measured in seconds
Normally shutter speeds used:1/60th of a second or faster
shutter speed anything slower than 1/60 than one need to use a tripod
Shutter speeds available to you on your camera will usually double (approximately) with each setting.
