Shortcut Math Tricks for Numbers
To find the number of factors of a given number, express the number as a product of powers of prime numbers.

Take the example of 576. 576 = 64*9 = 26 x 32
It is like 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 X 30, 31, 32
To get No. Of factors what is there is that you take any thing from 2's power multiply by anthing from 3's power, that will divide your initial number because it has that many number of 2's and 3's . Right. So how many combination are possible ? On left are 7 and right are 3 so net will be 7 x 3 =21 factors.

In other words just remember
After finding that 26 x 32 step, just do (6+1) x (2+1) = 7 x 3 =21 factors.

Note - If question ask you not to count 1 & 576 as factors, then subtract 2 from answer means 21-2=19. Otherwise don't subtract unnecessarily.

The sum of first n natural numbers = n (n+1)/2

Eg The sum of 1+2+3+……..+10+11+12 = ??

Here n = 12 so Sum = 12 ( 12+1 ) / 2
= 12 * 13 /2 = 6 * 13 = 78

The sum of squares of first n natural numbers is n (n+1)(2n+1)/6

Eg the sum of 12 + 22 + 32 + 42 + ………. +122 =??

= 12 (12+1) (2*12 + 1) /6
= 12*13*25 /6 = 650

The sum of first n even numbers= n (n+1)

Eg The sum of 2+4+6+8+10+…………. +40 = ??
Here n ≠40. N is the no of terms. So number of terms here is 20, the value of 20th term is 40 indeed. So with n = 20

Sum = 20 (20+1) =20*21 =420

The sum of first n odd numbers= n2

Eg The sum of 1+3+5+7+9+11+…………..+21

Here n≠21. Here number of terms are 11 so n=11.
Sum = 112 = 121

To find the squares of numbers near numbers of which squares are known
For eg you might know squares of 20,30,40,.. Very easily.
So
To find square of 41 which is near to 40, Add 40+41 to 1600 =1681

To find 592 , which is near to 60, Subtract 602 - (60+59) =3600-119 = 3481

Add when the number is more and subtract when the number is less.

Re: Shortcut Math Tricks for Bank and SSC Exam

Friend on your asking here I am providing List of Some Cool Maths Tricks ,have a Look :

For Squaring :

In this simple trick we need to modify the equation and make the units digit zero. After all it is easy to multiply when units digit is zero.

For example - Find square of 43
= (43+3) × (43-3) + (3×3)
=(46×40) + 9
= (460×4) + 9
= 1840 + 9 = 1849

Multiplication with 5

Simply multiply the number by 10 and then divide it by 2.
For example 99×5= 990/2= 495

Multiplication with 4
Multiplication with 9
Multiplication with 6
Multiplication with 99

Multiply the number with 100 and then minus same number from the result. Let's take an example
Multiply 32×99 = 3200 - 32 = 3168

Square root

Best method to find square root of large numbers is by dividing the number into parts. Let's take an example
Find square √ 1936
√ 1936 = √ 4 × √ 484 = √ 4 × √ 4 × √ 121 = 2×2×11 = 44
Time and Work

Every question in in time and work chapter can be solved easily by finding efficiency of workers or subject (such as pipes).

For example - A takes 10 days to complete a job. B takes 20 days to complete the same job. In how many days they will complete the job if they work together ?

A's efficiency = 100/10 = 10% per day
B's efficiency = 100/20 = 5% per days

A and B can do 15% of the work in a day if they work together. So they can do the whole job in 100/15 = 6.66 days or 6 days and 18 hours.

Profit and Loss

In case of profit
25% of Cost Price (1/4 of CP) = 20% of Selling Price (1/5 of SP)
Similarly 1/3 of CP = 1/2 of SP

In case of loss
25% of Selling Price (1/4 of SP) = 20% of Cost Price (1/5 of CP)
Similarly 1/3 of SP = 1/2 of CP

Estimation

That's the most important technique. This is not a secret that every successful candidate is using this technique during exams.

Example - 112 × 92
Simply 112 × 9 = 1008
Add a zero 10080 and then add 224 to 10080.
Answer is 10304

SUPER SPECIAL TRICKS to solve SIMPLE INTEREST questions Top are described as follows:
1. Amount = Principle + Simple Interest (SI)
2. Take Principle = Rs. 100/- always.
3. Count SIMPLE INTESTEST (SI) = Rate x Time
Where Rate in %age and Time in Years. Use SI Table for Rate & Year
(On the basis of Principle amount = 100).

Math Short Cut Trick for Data Interpretation (DI)

First Read the statement especially Table Contents Value which may be in thousands, lakhs or percentage.

Keep the value in mind during solution of DI based on Table Pattern.

Second take a review of all questions and write in short on the blank page whatever is asked to solve in these questions say sum, average, ratio, percentage etc.

Third count no. of rows and columns and simplify the Table by using SUPER FAST METHOD.

Fourth take a long breadth and say yourself that you can do it FAST and ACCURATE way. (This commands your mind and sends extra energy/power to your mind which will make work efficiently and accurately).
