Tamilnadu SET exam conducted by Bharathiar University is a state level eligibility test conducted in 27 subjects for recruitment of assistant lecturers in institutes of Tamilnadu and Puducherry.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have obtained 55 percent marks in Master's degree . (50 percent in case of SC/ST/PC/PH candidates).

Applicants who have appeared or who are appearing are also eligible to apply.

Applicants have to appear for SET in the subject of their post graduation only.


Ph.D. degree Applicants whose Master's level exam completed by September 19, 1991 get relaxation of 5 percent of marks from 55 percent to 50 percent marks.

There is no upper age limit for candidates.

Paper Pattern

The Test comprises of three papers;

Paper I: This is is meant to test research / teaching aptitude of the candidate.

Paper II : This paper will be for 100 Marks having 50 objective type compulsory questions.

Paper II will be of 1 1/4 hours duration.

Each question will carry 2 marks.

Paper III : Paper III will be of 2 1/2 Hours duration .

Each question will carry 2 Marks.

Consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions.
