The West Bengal State Eligibility Test (SET) is conducted every year in the months of September/ October respectively by the West Bengal College Service Commission.

Syllabus for Exam:


Paper 1: Reasoning Ability, Comprehension, Teaching Aptitude, General Awareness, Numerical Ability, Data Interpretation, Computers and Logical Thinking

Paper 2: Subject based questions of objective type

Paper Pattern:
First Session – paper 1 – 100 marks – 90 minutes
60 out of which 50 question to be attempted

Paper cutoff marks:
GENERAL 40 (40%)OBC/ PWD/ SC/ ST 35 (35%)

First session paper 2 , 100 marks, 90 minutes
50 questions – all are compulsory

Paper 2 cutoff :
40/35 percent,

Second session -paper 3rd , 150 marks . 150 minutes ,
75 question all are compulsory.

Paper 3 cutoff:
75/60 percent

In other words, the syllabus of the WB SET is prepared on the similar lines of the syllabus of the UGC NET.
