Section officers play an important role in many organizations as one is appointed for departments like accounts and administration. In government organizations in India one is appointed in government-run universities and institutions.

Educational Qualification and experience:
Normally, government organizations require that candidates must be degree holders in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 50% of marks.

Public sector organizations require that one must possess a minimum of 5 years experience in handling accounts and administration work in a reputed educational institution.

Some organizations specifically require that one must have worked in positions like senior assistant or superintendent to be able to apply for the position of Section Officer.

Age requirement:
As most of the government organizations hire experienced applicant so, the maximum age limit to apply for this position ranges from 30 to 40 years.

Job responsibilities:

The job responsibilities of section officers differ according to the department for which they are appointed.

Like, if one is appointed for the administrative department of an organization, one will have to perform various duties pertaining to the department to ensure smooth functioning of the department.

If one is appointed for auditing department, one need to examine the financial matters and have to perform some audit functions for the organization.

If one is appointed for finance & accounts department, one have to guarantee proper maintenance of accounts and should keep a watch on the receipts and expenses not only for the department, but also for the whole organization.

Thus, section officer is a position with lots of responsibilities in ensuring the proper functioning of the department for which they are appointed.
